The SDS Vault was developed to allow medium to large companies to be able to control their data storage needs themselves. These companies often will hire courier services to pick and deliver rotational backup tapes, thus relinquishing a great deal of control over their confidential data. Additionally, courier services can be expensive, especially when trying to restore data.

In the event of a wide spread disaster, courier services and off-site storage companies may be overwhelmed with requests for tapes stored at their facilities, thus delaying the retrieval of highly critical data.

Since it's on-site and accessible 24x7, your data is always under your control. The full audit trail completely tracks all movement of the vault and access to its various compartments. This audit trail can be downloaded to a PC or a dumb terminal or printer.
